Have a look at this post by bubble-jobs.co.uk I found this very interesting! Where do you fit in? I would like to develop my social media management skills- it seems to be happening naturally. Furthermore I would want to take on more content writing jobs and help with brand building.

Did this article help you to see a gap you weren’t aware of? Tell me about it…

I decided to stop labeling my daily posts because I’m busy living the dream I created. No I’m not making millions or chilling around in my PJ’s watching TV. I said I’m going to start a freelance career, and since I signed a few contracts, it’s safe to say that I did.

Now with this realization comes a lot of responsibility. It is now about balancing my work and play. At the end of the day my boyfriend and I want to start our own passive income business. He is still working as a programmer and I’m still finding my feet in the freelance industry. For now it is important to get into routine and reach my short term goals. He still has a certain amount of money he has to make in order to take the risk and quit his 9-5 job. We feel that we don’t want to start something average, so every day we throw around possible ideas- but we haven’t found THE ONE.

So for now the plan with this blog is to document my (our) progress as well as new developments. I have questions regarding freelancing, internet marketing as well as social media on a daily basis- and I’m sure you do to. I want those answers and I want to share them with you. So let us explore those fields together and join me on my journey to success

Okay. Hold your horses. I cannot believe things progressed this fast. A month from now I will most probably be making twice the amount I made at my previous job.

I am working very hard though! But I’m enjoying every second

Even though I thought I would be moving away from celebrity and fashion content, it seems like the clients enjoy my style of fashion and lifestyle writing. At the moment I am officially working on three projects

1. Social Media updates for a hair extension brand, Goldilox

2. Writing Fashion Content for Celebrityjabber.com

3. Fashion and Beauty Writing for Benevolenceinc.com

I also have three other projects in the pipeline- all related to writing.

Apart from that I also have to focus on my own blogs, so I’ll have to work on my time management! :)

I found that it’s best to do all the bigger tasks earlier in the morning, so that when my mid-day laziness.

So what happened?

- I applied for jobs 9 days straight and then I had to wait. I mostly used this very informative and helpful site to do my job search. http://www.aboutfreelancewriting.com/

You can ask my boyfriend, by the end of last week I was quite stressed and nervous that things wouldn’t work out, but one after the other replies came in, and I even had to say no to some clients.

Make Money My Way Tip:  Be Patient. Stay Positive. Trust the process.

Day 8 had quite a slow start. After a lot of job applications I was not receiving as much replies as I would’ve liked.

Instead of feeling sorry for myself I decided to focus on my other passions while I had the time. Not only am I trying to make some Money My Way, I’m also trying to improve my way of living

As the years went by I became more and more negative and the worst part is that I was ALWAYS complaining about something. Complaining really moved me miles away from my dreams. If I didn’t feel that I’m going to make it through the day because of a headache- how was I going to face bigger challenges.

That’s when I discovered The Possibility of Today. Firstly I have to say that I’ve never been a fan of those Happy Clappy type of people, but I suddenly have the need to be my happiest self.

The creator of this inspirational site is filled with focus and she has the secret! I started by filling out a Living Better Daily Scorecard- where you rate your attitude, interaction and discipline daily. This enables you to see what your weaknesses are and why you are complaining.

I’m quite stubborn and love to argue with others, but I realized that in order to have positive interactions with others, my attitude had to take a backseat. Happy interactions lead to feeling good- which didn’t lead to complaining or bickering.

It’s a very interesting cycle, and I’m learning quite a bit! Sometimes we just need that extra push from professionals in the industry! :)

So after doing some reading on Animal Behavior and doing more job searching my inbox rewarded me with some emails from clients.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but I might have the opportunity to work on an awesome project!

Tips of the day: Stop complaining

When the one part of your job is standing still, focus on another

aspect of it, don’t sit and wait for life to happen. :)

(Thanx to Sibyl Chavis from The Possibility of Today for being such a motivator!) :)

Okay. I promised that I will be honest about everything that I write here. I’m also trying hard to be positive and stop complaining. I just have to say a few things.

-This is much harder than it seems. That’s because I seem to get some jobs, but then they are not exactly what I am looking for. So here is a tip: When you see 6 emails in your inbox from prospective clients, prepare for only half of them bringing good news. :)

I must say, I am happy to see that a lot of these clients requesting samples are also paying for them!

Apart from writing blogs, articles and seo content I also decided to look into the social media jobs. I am confident about my social media abilities- so why not use it.

So after Day 7 I still only have one job. I said by the end of the week I want three. So let us hope for the best. :)

Sorry if this post seems a little bit negative, but as I promised- I will be honest about my emotions and earnings. :)

This morning when I woke up I decided that there will be five emails waiting for me. I went about getting ready for work, showered, had breakfast and when I opened my gmail five little emails greeted me.

Okay, fine- two of them weren’t work related, but three of them were. I browsed through each one. Since I am looking for long term projects that are in need of more than one article per day, I was happy to see such a request. I already sent them my samples and cover letter in the application, but and she was asking about my going rate. I replied with my rates, and I am still waiting for a reply.

The other email consisted of one of those affiliate marketing programs. I watched the entire video to see what it’s about. It came as no surprise that it was just like all the others. It’s funny how they are trying to make you feel special by offering you a limited discount to receive all their secrets. I’m quite stubborn- so I want to figure out how to make Money My Way. Not John Doe’s way. ;)

The 3rd email congratulated me on getting the job, but unfortunately the pay was not what I expected. I decided to let that message linger so that I could think about it through out the day. Then I remembered what I said in one of my previous posts. Don’t settle.

I thanked the client for the opportunity but decided to decline

To my surprise three more clients requested my services. I had to write a sample article for the one, which will be paid whether they will be using it or not. Another requested my rates, and I have the feeling that they might think it is too much.

I love the fact that things are picking up. I hope that my sample article (about Landlords from Hell) is sufficient and that I will be working with that client soon.

Day 6 has been a great day. Let’s see how many emails I will receive tomorrow. :)
